She was one of eleven children, nine boys and two girls. In 1982 in the midst of civil unrest in Nicaragua, Sister Dolores returned to the United States working in turn as a social worker at the Place 2B in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and as a teacher at St. Francis School in Gallup, New Mexico.
